Video traffic is the fastest growing sector on the internet. As a business owner, telling your story is a critical part of growing your business. The problem is that most people would rather click to play a two-minute video than read a whole page of text. But wait, isn’t video expensive? No, it doesn’t have to be. You can learn how to do it on your own and get started sooner rather than later. Take control of your image and design your own videos to connect and engage with your audience. You will not only learn about what to shoot, but how to shoot it, and where to buy your equipment. Finally the most important part, you will learn where to go to promote your video and how to use it to market your company effectively.

Rubén Cantú, an award winning film maker and entrepreneur and founder of CORE Media Ent., will show you how to drive traffic and create revenue through media for your company.

About Rubén Cantú:

Rubén Cantú is a new mediapreneur (media+entrepreneur). He has understood one basic principle: “There are no substitutes for hard work; shortcuts lead to shortfalls.”

From hosting his first radio show at the age of 14, to winning national awards for his college TV show, Rubén has demonstrated his strong passion for media. Utilizing his entrepreneurship background and his strong desire to create thought-provoking and empowering films, he has created his own production company, CORE Media Enterprises. Its goal is to bring socially aware and underexposed issues to the forefront. Building on the experience and success of his first company, he is now focused on allowing this new venture to break new ground in the industry. With ten years of directing live television and producing large-scale media events, he has shown his flexibility and reach within this space.

CORE has completed production on several films, some of which have garnered national and international recognition. His first film, Red Wednesday, was nominated for a student academy award. Barefoot Negotiations, a dance film shot in Whitesands National Monument Park in New Mexico, debuted in summer of ‘09 at the Cohen New Works Festival. Most recently he produced “Drama,” a short that has played at several national festivals, including AFF and SXSW, winning a best audience award. He holds a B.S. in Radio-TV-Film (2005) and a M.S. in Technology Commercialization from the McCombs School of Business (2009), both from The University of Texas at Austin.

His ambitions are focused on establishing a platform through the media to allow society to reflect on its condition and spur progressive and social change.
